Four years after Cox Smith Matthews settled a suit on behalf of Total Clean LLC for $4.5 million, the San Antonio-based firm is defending itself in a case brought by its former client. According to the petition, as the trial date approached, a firm shareholder told Total Clean "that the federal judge told her at a cocktail party that he would only permit a trial lasting five days." An attorney for Total Clean says his client would not have settled the case if not for the alleged misrepresentation.
