Attorney Couple Spared Prison for Insider Trading Scheme Roles
Husband-and-wife attorneys Christopher and Randi Collotta, who pleaded guilty earlier this year to insider trading at Morgan Stanley, were spared Thursday from serving time in prison by a sympathetic federal judge. Southern District of New York Judge Victor Marrero cited Mr. Collotta's history of cancer treatment and multiple cardiac problems as the main factor in deciding to give him three years' probation instead of prison time. Marrero also said the conduct was an aberration and unlikely to be repeated.
