Since the early days, when Facebook was just a startup run by a couple of college kids, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe lawyers have guided the social networking Web site in its business dealings. But last fall, just before Microsoft put $240 million into Facebook, valuing it at $15 billion, the company brought on Fenwick & West to do its corporate work. Exactly why Facebook handed its corporate work to Fenwick is unclear, but a change as sudden as Facebook's is rare.
